Abstract

The arm has a lengthwise rigid body (11) with an eyelet (12, 13) at each end designed to receive an elastic articulated joint. The axes (14, 15) of the two eyelets lie parallel to one another when the arm is made, and the arm is then twisted, either when hot or cold, before or during assembly with the joints. The arm can be made by extruding from aluminium or by stamping from sheet steel, and the twisting operation can be carried out on the stamping tool without removing the workpiece.
