Abstract

The system consists of panels (2) which are fixed to supporting elements (10) on a wall (24) by means of locking elements, each of which has two pairs of projecting arms (40, 42) to engage with the panels and the supports. Each locking elements fits between the side walls (6) of two adjacent panels and is turned through 90 degrees for its arms to engage with apertures in the panel side walls and a recess in the support in the shape of an enclosed oblong. The panels have at least one layer of a thermoplastic or thermo-setting material, while the supports are of a similar material, preferably fibre reinforced. The panels can be made, for example, from two coextruded materials. The locking elements are injection moulded.
