Abstract

The gliding sail parachute (1) comprises a canopy (2) formed by an upper wall (5) connected to a lower wall (6) by vertical ribs which delimit parallel caissons (8). Certain caissons are open at the leading edge (9) and extend as far as the trailing edge (10). Suspension cords (3) connect the canopy to the parachutist's harness (4). The gap between the ribs is maintained by an inflatable tube which extends transversely between the lower and upper walls parallel to the leading edge. The inflatable tube has at the level of each rib a narrow section whose diameter corresponds to the diameter of a hole in the rib.

Ainsi, lorsque ledit boudin (12) est gonflé, il permet de maintenir l'écartement respectif entre chaque nervure (7) et donc permet de servir de structure ou d'armature à ladite aile planante (1) en forçant lesdites nervures (7) à se maintenir au niveau du rétrécissement ou étranglement de section (15).
