Abstract

The cable end stop, for use, e.g. in conjunction with a spring clip, consists of a bush (2), e.g. of metal or nylon, with a truncated conical recess surrounding the cable. The recess is designed to receive a supple ring (4) of variable diameter. The ring (4) has a series of vanes (5) with spikes or projections (6), and it slides inside the recess so that the greater the pull on the cable the greater is the force locking it inside the bush. The vanes can be rectangular, pyramidal or spiral cap in shape, and a (3) can be fitted over the open end of the bush to prevent any return of the cable. The fixing of the cable can be enhanced by adding a synthetic self-hardening product.
