Abstract

The packaging for a roll of wallpaper comprises a skein winder (2) which receives the roll. This winder is constituted from two hollow complementary semi-cylindrical half shells. These half shells each have along their perimeter a peripheral rim which are joined together to form a slot allowing unwinding of the continuous roll. The packaging (4) is constituted by two half shells (4a,4b). Each half shell comprises a hollow cylindrical part (5a,5b), a plane part (6a,6b), extending from one side of the corresponding hollow semi-cylindrical part, and a peripheral rim (7a,7b) on all its perimeter. The two half shells are joined along the rims so that the two hollow semi-cylindrical parts form a cylindrical housing enclosing the winder. A part (1a) of the continuous paper sheet projects beyond the winder slot and is placed flat between the packaging plane parts. The packaging enables the purchaser to easily see the wallpaper without damaging the packaging.
