Abstract

The two trailing arms (1) are attached to the structure (3) of the vehicle and stabilised by transverse links (4, 5) linked to the central bracket (7) which is mounted in line with the mid-points of the trailing arms. Torsion bars (8), attached to the forward ends of the trailing arms, are anchored in the vehicle structure. Anti-roll bars (6), below the torsion bars, are anchored in the central bracket, in a plane joining the ends of the transverse links. Each trailing arm consists of two arms (10, 12) joined in line with the hub axis, the arm (10) attached to the links (4, 5) at one end and at the inner end hinged to the vehicle structure by the pin (13) whilst the arm (12) is attached to the anti-roll bar (6). The two arms are hinged to the structure on an extension of the corresponding torsion bar (8).
