Abstract

A triangular panel (11) equipped with winking lights is supported by a mast (1) which is hinged (12) at about half it's height and secured by a spring catch (13). The mast has a carrying handle (20) and a battery box (15) at it's base. The battery box (15) is part of an assembly (14,16) which may be lifted up and down the mast by a handle (19) and has sides (16) which lock three equally spaced legs articulated in housings and having contoured profiles either in the extended operating position or retracted portable position.

Description

Accident reporting must be put in place very quickly. It is generally carried out using on-board panels which must be in service, be high and large enough to be visible and stable to withstand bad weather; but on the other hand, light and not bulky, for the transport phase. In addition, they must also be simple to handle to be carried out by an agent alone, in difficult climatic conditions.

The materials offered to date are either not stable enough, or difficult to handle.

The present invention describes a stable material, on three feet deploying automatically by the action on a simple handle; and whose folding is also simple and quick.

Figure 4 shows a section along A of Figure I
Figure 5 shows a view showing the detail of operation of the feet
The sign consists of a vertical mast (1), the foot of which develops into three branches (2-3-4) each forming a yoke, at the end of which are articulated, three feet (5-6 -7). Below the screeds, there are supports (8-9-10) serving as a seat for the panel in the folded position. The upper end is extended by a part (I 1) supporting the signaling panel. This assembly is articulated at the top of the mast, by a hinge (12). In the folded position, the panel is folded down along the mast. deployed position, it is held vertically by a spring hook (13).

Along the mast, slides a mobile assembly (14), constituted by a box (15); containing the supply battery for the flashing lights fitted to the sign; it is extended by a horizontal plate (16) having, opposite each yoke a vertical border (17) directed towards the top of the mast. Parallel to the mast, the box (15) is extended by a dish carrying a guide bracket (18) and an operating handle (19) located substantially under the handle (20) integral with the mast.

qui sert de poignée de manutention à l'ensemble du panneau.which serves as a handling handle for the entire panel.

The feet (8-9-10) each have in the vicinity of their articulation a profile comprising, a radiating part (21) centered on the articulation; it ends in a plane (22) perpendicular to the body. A little further forward, it has a lug (23) of triangular shape. Between these two forms, extends a plane (24) substantially parallel to the body Behind the joint, the body ends in a plane (25) making with said body an obtuse angle. These profiles cooperate with the sides (17) of the moving crew to perform the functions
- Foot locking in folded panel position
The mobile assembly (14), ballasted with the battery, rests on the three feet (5- 6- 7) at each of the planes (22) arranged horizontally, the feet (5- 6 7) being in the folded position. in this position, the planes (24) of the feet rest on the sides (17) of the mobile assembly
- Automatic foot opening:
The sign is held in the air by the handle (20). By the lifting action of the movable assembly (14) by means of the handle (19), the upper edges of the walls (17) push on the pins (23) of each of the feet to tilt them towards the before and drop them by gravity, until contact with the ends of the rest supports (8-9-10). Under these conditions, the planes (25) form between them an open angle allowing the descent of the mobile assembly (14). By depositing the panel on these feet (5-6-7-), the latter each support by their plane (25) against the walls (17) of the moving element, thus ensuring the locking of the feet. The panel is in place, to put it into operation, draw up the panel (11) by pivoting it around the hinge ( 12) and block it by the spring hook placed on the mast (1) opposite the hinge.

- The folding
Raise the panel and the crew (14) until the planes (25) of each of the legs escape the plans (17) of the moving equipment. Keeping the handle (19) raised, place the panel on the ground. The three feet (5-6-7) move apart and the panel rests on the rest supports (8-9-10). then released and comes to rest on the three feet (5-6-7) at the level of the radiating forms (21). By successively lifting each of the feet, the mobile assembly is released and comes to rest on the planes (22) of the feet, blocking the latter as described above. The feet folding in front of the panel (11), it is therefore necessary to fold it down beforehand.
