Abstract

An improved glass is claimed for use in vehicles capable of being used as a safety and anti-theft glass. It is made up of a complex glass comprising:- a sheet of polycarbonate placed at the centre and sealed on the opposite surfaces of inner and outer sheets of glass using layers of polyurethane as a transparent adhesive; a transparent anti-splintering layer of plastic material applied on the surface, turned towards the inside of the cockpit of the vehicle, of the inner glass sheet. The components of this glass are:- a first sheet of glass with a thickness of 2.4 to 2.8 mm; a first film of polyurethane adhesive with a thickness of 0.38 to 1.14 mm; a sheet of polycarbonate with a thickness of 1.8 to 2 mm; a second film of polyurethane adhesive with a thickness of 0.38 to 1.14 mm; a second sheet of glass with a thickness of 2.4 to 2.8 mm; a layer of transparent anti-shattering plastic material with a thickness of at least 100 micrometres.
