Abstract

The invention relates to a parasol having a structural principle which is radically different from the traditional principle and in which the fabric is itself a structural element. This parasol is composed of a circular cover (1) made from fabric, stretched over a metal ring and stiffened by a central disc made from hard material having a diameter equal to approximately one third of its own. This disc, held between two pieces of fabric, is secured to them by means of gluing. The dismantleable parasol/mast assembly (4) is achieved by means of a pivot (7) incorporated in the central disc and which makes it possible to tilt the parasol while keeping the mast/foot (4) vertical. The said parasol is folded up by twisting the semi-rigid peripheral ring on itself in a figure-of-eight operation.

- La figure 2 représente ledit parasol en vue éclatée: on voit les deux rondelles (9) qui maintiennent la sphère (7) en place dans son logement (8) aménagé au centre du disque rigide et guident sa rotation, l'ensemble formant rotule;
- La figure 3 montre ledit parasol avec son mât/pied (4) vu en coupe.Le parasol est en position ouverte, incliné à 30 . La vue en coupe nous laisse voir les deux toiles (1') et (1") de la housse (1) tendues sur le cerceau (2) et rigidifiées par le disque central (3). Le mât/pied (4) possède à l'extrémité supérieure une tige filetée (6) sur laquelle on vient fixer l'ensemble parasol;
- La figure 4 est une coupe sur le système de rigidification du parasol et son articulation au mât. On voit le disque central rigide (3) sur les faces duquel sont collées les toiles (1') et (1") de la housse (1). Au centre de ce disque (3) on voit le logement (8) dans lequel tourne la sphère (7) maintenue en place par les deux rondelles (9). Cet ensemble constitue la rotule qui permet les mouvements de rotation dudit parasol.La liaison de l'ensemble parasol avec le mât/pied (4) se fait par une tige filetée (6) qu'on vient visser dans un trou taraudé percé dans la sphère (7);
- La figure 5 montre ledit parasol en position pliée. On voit la housse (1) refermée sur elle-même après le vrillage et la "mise en huit" du cerceau périphérique (1). Dans cette position la dimension du parasol est sensiblement celle du disque rigide (3), c'est à dire environ 1/3 du diamètre du parasol ouvert;
- La figure 6 montre ledit parasol en cours de pliage.
