Abstract

An impact head (1) of the punch is of such a length as to allow positional adjustment of the punch assembly (6) within a punch guide (5). A tube (3) houses the upper part of the punch, and includes a threaded portion on its external surface which receives a nut (4) connecting it to the guide. The nut locks the tube against the guide in a selected relative position. The internal surface of the guide is threaded to cooperate with the external surface of the tube. The upper and lower parts of the punch are shaped to allow maximum sharpening. ADVANTAGE - Allows adjustment of punch for loss of length due to sharpening, extending working life.
