Abstract

The device relates to a device for automatically immobilising a tipping skip on the forks of a lifting truck when these forks are engaged in the support sleeves of the supporting chassis of the said skip. The device is composed of a stirrup piece 6 mounted so that it pivots on one of the support sleeves 3, when the forks 4 of the lift truck are raised, the fork on which the stirrup piece is mounted lifts up with it a pivot pin 8 which has the effect of entrapping the fork from behind, in abutment against a pin 11 secured to the said stirrup piece. The invention finds its application in the automatic immobilisation of skips, of the type secured to a carrying chassis, particularly intended to receive the forks of a lifting truck.
