Abstract

The present invention relates to a device which makes it possible to mount one or more video cameras on an assembly rotating in azimuth and in elevation. By the addition of a rotating joint, the continuous azimuthal rotations in no way adversely affect the functions of the various electrical conductors and especially the video signal. It consists of a protective sphere or cylinder 1, a rotating support 7 with its joint 6, a motor 5 for the azimuthal rotations, a rotating camera-support assembly 10, a motor 12 for the elevational movements and camera support 14.

Description

DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a device which makes it possible to embark urate L> LJ several video cameras, or any other camera, on a set rotating in azimuth + of 3600 without limitation and in site + 450.

Until now, the existing camera support turrets were forced to stop their rotation in azimuth before a full turn, otherwise the electrical control cables and video coaxial cable would deteriorate and break. The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks.

According to a first characteristic, it in fact comprises a miniature rotating joint which allows electrical continuity as well as the continuity of the video signal. This seal is made up of two main parts: the shaft (rotating part), the housing (fixed part). The contacts, rings, brushes are made of precious metals.

The passage of more than 30 conductors is possible, which allows to slave several cameras as well as the supply of several functions.

The whole of this device can be placed on a base or suspended.

The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention - Figure l shows in elevation the device according to the invention - Figure 2 shows in section the rotating support - Figure 3 shows in section the rotating assembly with camera support.

With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a cylinder or a transparent plexiglass globe (I) which makes it possible to protect the internal organs of the device from dust and from rain. This protection is fixed on a support plate (2) which will serve as a support plate in the suspended version or as a support base in the installed version.

Four balusters (3) fixed to this support plate serve to maintain a support plate (4) which receives the motor (5) for rotation in azimuth, the rotary joint (6), the rotary support (7) which will allow us to suspend heavy objects without damaging the rotating joint shaft.

This rotary axis (8) is driven by an upper receiving pulley (9) which rotates a rotary assembly (10) (plate and bracket). This azimuth rotation can therefore be done without interruption since there is no end-of-travel time limit.

On the bracket (10) of the rotary assembly is mounted a rotary axis (11) with a lower receiving pulley (12) driven by a motor (13) for site rotations (+ 45), end stops of travel limit movement from top to bottom.

On the rotating axis (11), opposite the receiving pulley, is fixed a support (15) which will support the camera, the zoom or any other device.

The entire device, with a reduced footprint (200mu x 260mm) allows this turret to be used anywhere.
