Abstract

Compositions of depilatory waxes which are disposable, can be pulled off and are self-detaching. They contain, as novel and effective constituents, polyvinylpyrrolidone and/or homopolymeric or copolymeric PVP derivatives. At about 50 DEG C, these waxes spread perfectly and show excellent clinging and adherent power. On cooling, at 30 DEG C and below, they set and rapidly become solid and adherent to the skin. They detach readily therefrom, carrying the hairs with them, without pain or irritation. They permit safe, rapid and economical depilation.
