Abstract

A replacement crankcase cover, especially for a 'Vespa' moped two-stroke engine, is made with an aperture for the passage of gases. The aperture is equipped with an adapter (6) for an intake pipe (3), fixed to the crankcase by three screws (4) in threaded holes (5). The inlet pipe can be made in two versions, allowing it to be adapted to all carburettors with a diameter of 12-21 mm., while two seals (7) ensure that the joints are gastight. The intake pipe can be made to contain a carbon-fibre flap valve to control the gas flow. ADVANTAGE - Improved engine performance without modification.
