Abstract

The invention relates to a system allowing the selection of telephone calls. To this end, the device is installed in series between the telephone line and the telephone. When the sound signal appears, the apparatus goes off hook and begins to listen. If the apparatus recognises the proper succession of programmed voice frequencies, it then rings a sound signal. Otherwise, the apparatus hangs up. In another configuration, the apparatus no longer requires the sending of a code but simply sends an attenuated ringing for a certain time before sounding the telephone itself. In another version of the invention, it will be possible to provide the apparatus for the purposes of recognising the caller. To this end, several codes will be programmed into the apparatus; each code capable of triggering a particular tune. The apparatus consists of a box 1 incorporating a socket 2 for connection to the national telephone network, a socket 3 enabling the telephone 4 to be plugged in, a position selector 5, means for programming the code 6 and a warning sounder 7.
