Abstract

Inflatable umbrella device. The invention relates to an inflatable umbrella equipped with systems which make it possible to stiffen the whole assembly after it has been inflated by mouth. It consists of a flexible upper plastic film 1 and of a lower film 2 welded or glued at its periphery 9, equipped with spacing limiters 3 welded or glued between the upper film 1 and the lower film 2. The lower plastic film 2 is fastened, via gluing or welding, to the handle 6 at the level of the plug 8. The tubes 5 made from hard plastic or the steel strips, after inflation of the chamber 11 using the valve 10 , make it possible to stiffen the tubular part of the film 2. The flexible plastic strips 4 act as braces after inflation. In the case of tubing, the welds 7 limit the travel of the tubes and, in the case of steel strips, they position their edges with opposed orientation. The device according to the invention is intended particularly to reduce the overall size, the number of articulations and the mechanical systems of a conventional umbrella.

Description

The present invention relates to an inflatable umbrella, equipped with devices allowing after pulmonary inflation a stiffening of the whole.

The device according to the invention makes it possible, from a hollow handle made of rigid plastic material, to form an umbrella by adding pulmonary air. The dome of the umbrella being formed by an airtight chamber due to the bonding or welding of two films of flexible and waterproof plastic. The handle is formed in the same plastic texture, by gluing or welding, so as to obtain a tubular shape, or are incorporated hard plastic tubes, decreasing in diameter for a telescopic folding or steel ribbons which can undergo winding or folding. These steel ribbons or these tubes are glued or welded to the film of the handle to limit their travel in the case of tubes or to oppose the orientation of the edges in the case of steel ribbons.

Figure 1 shows, in section, the device according to the invention in the open position with decreasing casing of diameter
The figure ? shows, in section, the device according to the invention in the closed position with decreasing casings.

Figure 3 shows, in section, the device according to the invention in the closed position equipped with steel ribbons.

Figure 4 shows, in section, the device according to the invention, in the open position the steel strips after inflation.

The device of FIG. 1 comprises an upper plastic membrane or film (1), a lower plastic film (2) of reduced size, which causes with the tie rods (4) and the distance limiters (3), the parabolic form of the assembly, after inflation by the valve (tu). In the tubular conduit formed by welding or gluing of the lower film (2) are incorporated tubes (5) of hard plastic of different diameter or steel ribbons (5) of Figure 3. Their functions is to make rigid in the two cases the part of the handle of the umbrella, which the low pulmonary pressure makes impossible on such a reduced volume.

The vacuum of the handle (6) receives before opening the entire volume folded to the entire device. The valve (10) welded or glued to the center of the membrane (1) allows inflation of the chamber (it) as well as the extraction of the device, in its folded position of FIG. 2 and of FIG. 3. The plug ( 8) of the handle (6) allows by inclusion, the fixing of the steel strips and facilitates the folding of the device. The plug (8) is glued or welded at the first assembly with the film (2) and the handle (6).

Welding or bonding (9) over the entire periphery of the device forms the chamber (11). The welds or glues (7) limit the travel of the tubes or position the steel strips of Figure 4.

The device according to the invention is particularly intended to reduce, the size, the mechanisms of an umbrella, as well as the manufacturing times and costs, in order to obtain a device of limited use known as "disposable".
