Un système de patins empêche les bagues de s'incliner vers la gauche sur leur axe donc de se bloquer sur le tube lorsqu'elles sont poussées (ou tirées) vers la gauche (sens de tension des cables) tandis qu'elles se bloquent lorsqu'elles sont tirées (ou poussées) vers la droite. Elles servent alors d'appui à l'axe d'oscillation, du long levier de commande, qui passe alternativement de l'un à l'autre. Lorsqu'une bague est bloquée, le mouvement du levier se transforme en mouvement rectiligne vers la gauche de l'autre bague qui est libre.La succession de mouvements de va et vient du levier, par une série de blocages-progressions, rapproche la partie mobile de la partie fixe rapprochant ainsi en les tendant les deux brins à assembler (ou 1 brin du poteau).This reciprocating movement is generated by a long lever located between the two rings, it acts on them via: a link articulated on the lever of the left ring, a fixed lever on the right ring. L+l devient fixe, la force F2 x L1l est transmise à la bague (B1) qui se redresse, devient libre et se déplace de quelques centimètres vers la gauche tendant ainsi les câbles. Un jeu de 2 ou 3 mm en (d) fig. 1 ou 5 empêche éventuellement la bague (B1) de trop s'incliner vers la gauche et de se bloquer.
