Abstract

Knee support which stabilises the patella, made of elastic fabric, comprising a frontal recess receiving the front face of the patella. It is characterised by the use of a foam wedge at the inner face, which is removable, of variable thickness, and is itself coupled to an elastic system, allowing the tension of application of this wedge to be altered, thus allowing patellar subluxations to be combatted.

L'instabilité de rotule par trouble de l'engagement est une pathologie extré me ment fréquente chez les adolescents des deux sexes. Patellar instability due to engagement disorder is a very frequent pathology in adolescents of both sexes.

Grace à ce système, la rotule, déja maintenue en place par l'evidement classique bien connu sur de nombreux autres appareillages, voit sa tendance à la bascule externe d'autant plus contrariée que la flexion augmente, la cale (3) s'opposant à ce mouvement. Ceci est surtout interessant dans les premiers degrés de flexion pendant lesquels la rotule s'engage dans la trochlée.
