Abstract
Intake device for an internal combustion engine with valves which comprises an intake port 300 with a main duct 310 and a secondary pipe 320 which are capable of communicating upstream of an intake valve 200 and movable stopper means 510 associated with the main duct so as to be able to close it at least partially, upstream of its confluence with the secondary pipe. This device is such that these ducts and pipes communicate via a chamber 123 which surrounds the stem 220 of the valve and where there opens an orifice 126 connected to the secondary duct and a bore 122 connected to the main duct. Furthermore, the valve stem 220 has a cylindrical collar 221 mounted slidingly in this bore 122 so as to close it when the valve is closed and to hold it in this position until it moves away from its seat 110 by a specified value. Application to optimising the operation of engines at high and low speeds.
