Abstract
Description
L'invention concerne les convoyeurs à bande. The invention relates to belt conveyors.
The installations intended for conveying materials comprise a band, generally made of rubber, driven by one or more motor drums; along its route, it is supported and guided by roller stations, the spacing of which depends on the load transported. These rollers also serve to give a curved shape to the strip, in order to allow it to contain the material to be transported.
Installations or devices designed in this way have a certain number of drawbacks. First of all, the material transported is exposed to the weather, and part is blown away by the wind, which increases industrial pollution, especially in the case of large installations, such as steel or mining. Such installations represent very heavy investments: soil preparation, installation of stations whose shapes are different depending on whether they are at the start, at the end or in the middle of the route, oversizing of the structure due to the dead weight very important rubber band. The use of the strip prohibits curves and limits the slopes that can be climbed. Due to their weight, these installations consume a great deal of energy. During maintenance, these equipments are also quite expensive: the strip is subjected to deformations and great tensile forces which cause its wear; moving parts; such as rollers and drums become clogged by the loss of materials which deteriorate the bearings; general aperiodic cleaning of the installation is essential.
It can be added that these assemblies are unsightly and that they require, in the case of heavy and fixed industrial installations,
VRD important for their bypass and their crossing.
The conveyor according to the invention does not have these drawbacks. It comprises gantries supporting rails containing rollers between which the edges of the belt are held. The strip is thus suspended, and no longer carried. The present invention allows different executions and adapted to the materials to be transported: earth, ores, light powders, liquids, sludges, etc. Some examples of nonlimiting embodiments are set out below.

La figure 9 représente une installation fixe coraortant des parties courbes en terrain non aménagé.Figure 6 is a view of the drive drum in the first solution;
FIG. 7 represents a band intended for conveying sludge, powders, or liquids. FIG. Fl represents a conveyor with a mobile suspended band. FIG. 9 represents a fixed installation coraorting curved parts in undeveloped land.
According to a first embodiment, shown in Figures 2, 3, and 6, the strip consists of a coated canvas, of high resistance (8).
The sides of the strip are fixed to a flexible profile of reinforced rubber or any other material of the same characteristics (9). This profile (9) contains a core (10) which can be a steel cable or any other tensile resistant core. At the beginning and at the end of the installation, the strip (B) comes into contact with the drive drum (5) and with the start drum (12).
The bulge of the profile (9) allows the strip to be maimtenue by the rollers (14) * fixed in the rail (15). The axis of these rollers (14) can be arranged vertically or horizontally. These rollers (14) are removable to allow their replacement and the establishment of the band on the conveyor. The rails (15) have a curved shape at the start and at the end of the installation in order to gradually bring the edges of the strip into the transport and unloading position. A simplified execution (fig 3 ') avoids the use of rollers (14), by using rails (15) in the form of slides made or covered with a sliding material, for example nylon (Erta brand or other). rails (15) are supported by gantries, at intervals calculated according to the size of the load to be transported (16). These gantries make it possible to adjust the relative spacing of the rails as well as their slope. In this first embodiment, the movement of the assembly is ensured by the drum arranged in a conventional manner at the end of the conveyor, unloading side. The drum (fig 6) has grooves adapted to the profiles (9) of the band (8), and is rotated by the motor (7), fitted with a speed reducer. The rubber profile (9) passes from the horizontal position, necessary for its drive by contract with the drum (5) in the vertical position, necessary for its role of suspending the strip (B) thanks to the gradually curved and inclined shape of the rails (15).
In the second embodiment (Figure 4), the rollers (14) are provided with toothed flanges (18), intended to cooperate with handling chains (17) driven by motor (7). This variant makes it possible to distribute the traction force over the whole of the conveyor, and not only at one of its ends; the strip (8), the profile (9) and the core (10) can thus be considerably reduced. The end drum (5 j is in this case a tamboursiml, esans function entrainemcnt, or can be dragged incidentally. I1 can also be removed without disadvantage.
In a third embodiment (fig 5), the chair (17) is a handling chain whose legs are fixed to the profile (9) of the strip (8). The drive is done in this case by means of the pinions (18), two or more of which are motors.
When sludge, light powders or liquids are to be conveyed, a special strip (fig7) can be used. This band is also useful when steep slopes are to be climbed. This band includes bellows (19) fixed on the band (8).
The design of the assembly, in the three main variants described, makes it possible to produce mobile conveyors (FIG. 8). The gantries (36) are in this case connected between them so as to form a truss supporting the rails (15). Preferably, the drive will be done by chain, according to the second embodiment described, in order to balance the assembly by positioning the drive motor (7) on the loading side. Taking into account the relatively low weight of the assembly compared to that of a conventional installation with roller stations, a large overhang can be envisaged on the unloading side.
The conveyor according to the invention allows curved paths by the fact that the strip is guided by the rails (35). In practice, a route such as that shown in Figure 9 can be achieved using sections of pre-curved rails and placed on the gantries (16) according to the desired curves. An adjustment device (20), consisting for example of a screw provided with a nut and a lock nut, furthermore makes it possible to adjust the slope of the conveyor relative to the horizontal. The belt being guided and partly closed on itself, this type of conveyor can accept higher operating speeds than conventional conveyors, the belt not likely to leave its guide, and the transported material not likely to be dump laterally.
The conveyor according to the invention can be used in most cases of use of the conventional roller station conveyor and also as a replacement for other types of installations for special uses: conveying of liquids, sludges, powders, etc ...
