Abstract

The braking device according to the invention comprises braking members 1 capable of being actuated by means of a rod 4 which can be moved axially under the control of a driving brake 2 or of a parking brake 3. It is characterised in that the driving brake 2 comprises a cylinder 5 enclosing a piston 8 which can be moved axially towards the front in the direction of the braking members 1, under the control of a pressurised fluid and able to drive the rod 4 with it during its displacement; in that the parking brake 3 comprises elastic means 9 compressed between a rear stop 10 made on a sleeve 11 surrounding the rod 4, at the front of the parking brake 2 and a front stop 12 made on a cylindrical envelope 13 surrounding the elastic means 9; and in that the cylinder 5 and the envelope 13 constitute a single component mounted slidingly in a cylindrical casing 14 comprising an internal projection 15 at the rear of the envelope 13 and forming, together with the cylinder 5, an annular chamber 17 at the rear of the projection 15.
