Abstract

According to the invention, the assembly comprises: - a sponge 10 impregnated with an ophthalmic solution, including an impermeable membrane 12 at its external surface or near its external surface; - a container 20 of generally flattened form with a capacity substantially equal to the volume of the sponge, which it encloses, this container being blocked at its top by a tearoff or peelable film 30 whose removal allows access to the sponge on the side of its impermeable membrane, this container being furthermore elastically deformable in order to allow compression of the sponge allowing drop by drop administration of the solution through a region of the container which is uncovered, the film in this case being torn off or peeled back over only a small area.
