Abstract

Said two-for-one twisting spindle comprises the feature that it has a spindle foot 1 made of a synthetic resin, especially a thermoplastic resin obtained by moulding. A metal strengthening ring 9 has been incorporated in the resin of the spindle foot, this ring being placed at the bearing 4 supporting the axial load and the radial thrust due to the drive belt 6 and to residual eccentricity. A metal sleeve 5 is set at the base of the spindle foot to guide the rotating shaft 3. A space 11 has been left between the spindle foot 1 and the rotating shaft 3 to hold the lubricating oil, and axial holes or grooves in said metal sleeve 5 to allow the oil to pass into a second space 12 at the base of said spindle foot.
