Abstract

The invention relates to a safety electronic detector ensuring immediate triggering of the chain brake of a chain saw as soon as it comes into accidental contact with the user. It is characterised in that it comprises an electromagnet 10 for retracting a pin 14 allowing triggering of the chain brake driven by an electronic circuit 16 detecting the infinitesimal passage of current between the insulated tubular metal handle 1 of the chain saw unit 3 and the chain 8 via the body of the user, the whole being supplied with power by the magnetic flywheel of the chain saw, the current being rectified and stabilised by the electronic system 15. Application to the safety of forestry and scrub clearance equipment.
