Abstract

The trimmer knife has a hollow handle (3) with seat for a blade (1) not movable in relation to it and which is interchangeable, protruding part of the way from one end. A blade guard (4) for the protruding portion retracts in the axial direction inside the handle. The guard is actuated by a press-button or grip (5) hinging on the handle via a transmission mechanism (7,8) causing its sliding movement, typically in the form of a boss on the grip acting against a ramp on the guard.
