Abstract

The present invention relates to hydroelectric power stations using the power of water acting on blades as a source of energy, but in this case this force is exerted in the direction of rotation of half the blades and not perpendicularly as in the case of the majority of hydroelectric power stations. This device, located in the most suitable place on any water course with a sufficient flow rate allows electricity to be generated without impeding the migration of fish and without necessitating major works. It can be fabricated entirely at the factory. It comprises two floats f and g, connected together by a low plate h, and a protective grille. Between these two floats two moveable blades a move, held perpendicular to the direction of the current by means of pressure gauge springs b which regulate the force of the water. These blades, fitted on two drive chains c, cause two notched wheels d to rotate, which in turn cause two kinetic wheels, a step-down gear and an alternator, to rotate by way of shafts firmly attached to the notched wheels.
