Abstract

The pump is for use in difficult geographical conditions and climate and for pumping liquid. It has not moving parts and has a length of 1.6 metres, minimum, between the liquid inlet (6) and outlet (8). It is formed by a single straight pipe of at least 100mm diameter. It has an outer pipe (5), longer than the inner air input pipe (1). This diminishes in diameter progressively from the end of the air inlet pipe (7) to the liquid outlet, to create suction by venturi action. The pump can be supported by floats.

Description

Apparatus for pumping liquids, without moving parts, by simple use of compressed air.

The invention relates to the technique of pumping J occupying a certain extent but of indifferent depth, mainly in places and under circumstances where it is difficult for me to use technical means.

The device is rudimentary and appears as a simple steel tube, intended to be immersed in the liquid to be pumped or to float on its surface, comprising by reference to Drawing Board n 1: - A straight central pipe ( 1), cut n Ace to a threaded sleeve (2), on a compressed air inlet pipe (1).

- An external pipe (5), of greater diameter than the first, open on the liquid to be pumped on the side of the air inlet (6) and evacuating said liquid to its other end, narrowed from the level of the air outlet (7),; a certain distance beyond said air outlet (8). The two above pipes are fixed to each other by anti-vibration wedges welded in profile (9). The assembly is maintained on the surface or in immersion by means of two floats (10).

The length of the pipes and their diameter will be adapted to the air pressure used as a function of the volume of liquid to be evacuated in a determined time. In its smallest dimension and using an air pressure of 2 x 5 kg / cm2, the various elements have the following dimensions
- Inner compressed air tube (1): 1 meter long for a diameter of 27 mm. From the entry of the said tube inside the sleeve to the opening on the liquid (6): 30 cm in length. From the outlet of the compressed air (4) to the outlet of the pumped liquid: 30 cm in length.

- The outer tube (5) has a length of 1.60 meters, a diameter of 100 mm at its inlet (6) and a diameter of 70 mm at its outlet (8), the narrowing of the diameter starting at the air outlet (7).

- The air inlet pipe (3) has a variable height (12).

For pumping liquids to a certain depth, the outer tube (5) will be extended at a right angle downwards on the suction side.

By reference to Drawing Board 2, we have:
Extension by means of adaptatle.s elements fixed to each other by quick clamping without bolting (11).

OPERATION- Operation is simple. The device is immersed at the desired depth depending on the agitation of the liquid on its surface. At the air inlet (3) are connected hoses connected to the compressor, the length of which will depend on where it is possible to install said compressor.

At the outlet of the device (8), a hose of the desired length will be connected according to the destination of the pumped liquid, or even, in the simplest cases, a simple directional elbow allowing the propulsion of the liquid in the air.

The compressor is then started. Its power will depend on the length of the evacuation pipes and the level from which the liquid must be raised.

On a stirred water body, the device will rather be used in its second version (Plate 2) and not submerged.
