Abstract

A female contact component (1) is formed by a conductive U-shaped piece which contains a core (2) and two wings (3,4). One end of the core (2) is fitted with strips (5,6) formed to hold a conductor (20). At the other end, the wings (3,4) are prolonged and folded, like a hair pin, in order to form elastic str-ps (3c,4c) which together form a clip, e.g. for a PCB (12). This female contact (1) is mounted inside a housing (10) in an insulating box (11). Each wing (3,4) prolongation has a convex part (3a,4a) situated between the wing (3,4) and the hair-pin fold (3b,4b). This convex part (3a,4a) is used to increase the tightening pressure of the PCB (12) and limit the deformation of the clip (3c,4c).
