Abstract

A microprocessor with a power source has a cable attached which allows information from a totaliser to be collected. An alphanumeric display enables the numbers on the totaliser to be displayed at the same time as they are extracted from the totaliser. The totaliser may be read by an optical reader where it is entirely mechanical or by direct connection to an electronic circuit where such a circuit is used to count pulses from a mechanical totaliser and display. A keyboard enables the operator to store information such as the subscriber code for transfer to a mass memory such as a cassette. The microprocessor is able to reset the totaliser to zero automatically at the end of the data extractor process.
