Abstract

The instrument case is constructed of double-walled plastic material (P1,P2,P3,P4). Unoccupied space is filled with foam. The materials used are impermeable and non-perishable. When closed, the lid makes a water-tight seal with a flexible joint (J). The case is able to absorb shocks and bumps. The instrument dials occupy recesses (TR1,TB,TS,T4) in the one-piece top face (F). A rectangular recess (TA) contains the batteries and instructions can be read through the transparent cover (C2). An electronic clock can control the switching on of the radio receiver. A loud-speaker membrane conveys sound directly across the front face from the radio and alarm units. An aerial made of a metallised plastic ribbon, assuring correct radio reception is incorporated in the case. The device is intended for marine use.
