Description

The present invention relates to a training and rehabilitation bicycle in an apartment, hereinafter called an exercise bicycle, designed in particular to respond to the following two concerns - enabling medical rehabilitation after cardiac disorders,
trauma, fractures, tendonitis, etc.

etc.
- maintain good physical condition, sports training,
etc.

There are currently a number of devices on the market to train at home in the practice of cycling. These known devices can be classified into two categories 1 - trainers also called "home trainers", which consist of
chassis that fits on any bicycle, so that the front wheels and
rear rest on rollers. These coaches require obliga
the possession of a bicycle, and therefore
too much space. In addition, their implementation, in particular
to ride them, requires a certain virtuosity on the part of
the user, which makes them unsuitable for the rehabilitation of the disabled, my
lades and handicapped, as well as their use by the elderly.

2 - the so-called apartment bicycles. These are devices designed
only for use in an apartment. In these devices,
resistance to pedaling movement is obtained by cons braking
both from start to end of pedaling, this braking can be exerted
either on a wheel or on a particular type of crankset.

The present invention relates to an exercise bicycle of the type belonging to the second category above. However, due to its new design, it also aims - in part to replace the conventional trainers known as "home trainers". This new bicycle proposes to overcome the disadvantages of known bicycles. Indeed, with stationary bicycles according to the prior art, pedaling has nothing comparable to that of a real bicycle, which allows a smooth and flexible pedaling , which cyclists call the "ankle game". The invention proposes to provide an exercise bicycle offering reactions comparable to those of a real bicycle, that is to say allowing flexible pedaling. and not in strength, hence greater speed with equal muscular expenditure or making it possible to pedal longer, at slower speed.

The stationary bicycle according to the present invention comprises a fixed part, consisting of a tubular frame carrying at least one roller on which a wheel of the bicycle must rest, and one of the tubes of which receives the stem of the handlebar, and a movable part which comprises the frame of the bicycle, a complete crankset, a bicycle wheel, and a connecting bar connecting said movable part to the fixed part. This bicycle is characterized in that said junction bar is positioned in a substantially horizontal manner, so that the thrust due to pedaling is also horizontal.

According to another characteristic of this invention, - means are provided for carrying out the simulation of the ribs, in particular by lifting the front part of the fixed frame. It is possible, for this purpose, to use jacks, or any other equivalent system.

According to another characteristic of this invention, the resistance offered for pedaling varies according to the weight of the cyclist, since it is due to this weight, as in the case of a real bicycle.

As can be seen in these Figures, this bicycle comprises two essential parts - a fixed part, generally designated by the reference A; and, - a mobile part, designated as a whole by the reference B.

The fixed part A essentially comprises: a frame 10, braced at 12 and 14 and carrying the rollers 16, 18; a tube 20 in which the stem stem 22 of the handlebar is set, adjustable in height and triangulated by the upright 24 and the handlebar 26, adjustable in spacing and inclination.

A. The movable part B comprises: the frame 28, with the adjustable seat tube 30 and the saddle 32; a complete crankset 34 (that is to say with cranks, crown (s), pedals, toe clips, possibly chain cover, derailleur, etc.); a complete bicycle wheel 36, receiving either a fixed pinion or a free wheel with one or more crowns, and being able to be equipped with a derailleur or with a gear change hub; a junction bar 38, connecting the movable part B to the pivot axis 40 of the fixed part A.

According to a characteristic of this invention, the junction bar 38 is positioned substantially horizontally, so that the thrust due to pedaling is also substantially horizontal, thus preventing a portion of the weight of the cyclist from being transferred to the pivot axis 40.

A. The bicycle according to the invention is provided with means making it possible to simulate a hill, by modifying the height position of the front part of the fixed frame A.

In the embodiment shown in Figure 3, these means consist of cylinders 42, 42 ', bearing on the spacer 12 and pushing on a bar 44, guided by slides 46, 46'.

In the variant illustrated in FIG. 7, a tube 48 is used which slides in the tube 20 by pressing on the bar 44, which, here too, is guided by the two slides 46, 46 '. The tube 48 can be held at variable heights by a clamping rod 51.

In all the exemplary embodiments, the bar 44 is provided with a non-slip part on its surface in contact with the ground.

Thanks to these arrangements, a side position can be obtained which simulates a slope which can vary, for example, from 1 "to 20" (Figure 6). Of course, the two embodiments described here, with reference to Figures 3 and 7, are only non-limiting examples, any other means for raising the front part of the fixed frame A can be used without departing from the scope of the 'invention.

The variant embodiment shown in FIG. 4 comprises a fixed part A ′ having only one roller 50, on which the wheel 36 of the bicycle rests. In the variant illustrated in FIG. 5, the fixed part A "comprises a single roller, placed either to the left, 50 ′, or to the right, 50", from the vertical axis of the line 36.

Figures 8 to 10 illustrate alternative embodiments of an exercise bicycle according to the invention suitable for horizontal pedaling. On these variants, we find the same basic characteristics as those described above, with reference to Figures 1 to 7. Figure 9 illustrates the side position of the bicycle shown in Figure 8, and Figure 10 shows a variant in which the cyclist's position is facing the ground, a position used for the rehabilitation of certain disabled people, or in very special cases.

le poids de l'utilisateur;
The stationary bicycle according to the invention provides the following advantages compared to known type stationary bicycles - possibility of achieving flexible and flowable pedaling comparable to that
of a real bicycle, thanks to the horizontal pedaling thrust - variable pedaling resistance, depending on
the weight of the user;
the chosen speed
the hill position adopted - high stability allowing, in particular, easy pedaling with just one
leg (alternately) for learning the ankle game, or
to perform special rehabilitation; - possibility of multiple adjustments, to adapt the bicycle to the mensura
user tions; ; - possibility of providing for a gear change, either by derailleurs,
rear and front and rear, either by a gear change in the
hub, which makes it possible to vary the resistance in important measurements.

The exercise bicycle according to the invention can be used by all: the disabled, sportspeople, and any person wishing to keep in good physical condition, to rehabilitate or improve their line.

I1 remains of course that this invention is not limited to the various embodiments described and shown, but that it encompasses all variants.
