Abstract

The plastics box for holding drawing instruments has a base (1) with a small flange (4) projecting outwards at the bottom, supporting the bottom edge of the sides (5) of the lid (2). In the top of the lid, at one end is a recess (17) inside which is positioned a sliding latch (10). This consists of a block with a hooked extension (8) below it, which fits under one end of a slot (9) in the horizontal top surface of the base, in the locked condition. One end of the block is guided by projections (17) suspended from the underside of the lid. The other end (12) is supported by a bridge (19) so that it can slide between the locked and released positions.
