Abstract

The atomiser for producing a spray of liquid in an air stream, suitable for treatment of cultures, has a rotary distributor disc (30) supported in front of a fan (2). The fan is mounted inside a shroud (5) with a spherical outside surface carrying a duct (25) enclosing the disc, so that the shroud can be tilted at an angle. The disc is mounted on a spindle (21) with its other end in contact with the hub (8) of the fan rotor. Mounted on the discharge side of the hub is a ring (13) coated with a friction material layer (14) so as to drive a boss (16) on the end of the spindle. This rotates inside a sleeve with a spring (23) attached to it and attached at the other end to the shroud, so that the spindle can be supported at any angle.
