Abstract

Grid consists of several thin parallel plates, each of which is located between two adjacent rows of tubes. Each plate possesses parallel undulations aligned at 90 deg. w.r.t. the axes of tubes; and on each undulation is a row of bosses used to wedge and support tubes. The side edge of each plate pref. has a tongue entering a slot in two rings welded to an internal sleeve. Plates can be assembled in the exchanger at the same time as the rows of tubes and the plates are used at all levels except where the tubes are provided with expansion loops.
