Abstract

In an internal information transmission system using a time switching procedure, several terminals are interconnected by a single cable (S1,...,S69) along which a time base pulse generator transmits successive series of pulses, each series identifying a respective terminal with an additional series serving as a time base. The first pulse (Io) of each series also serves as a time base. A calling terminal is identified by increasing the pulse width of the last pulse (In) of the pulse series associated with that terminal and each subsequent series of pulses has a first reference pulse (I1) immediately following its time base pulse (Io) allocated to carry the information from the calling terminal. The called terminal is identified in the same manner and each series of pulses immediately following the pulse series associated with the called terminal has a reference pulse (I2) immediately following the first reference pulse allocated for carrying information from the called terminal. In a system of 100 terminals 20 independent conversations can be carried on.
