Abstract

The work bucket (18) is pivoted to the free end of an articulated two part boom (14, 16), which in turn is pivoted to a frame (12). The frame is mounted on a turntable (11) on a wheeled chassis (10) fitted with stabilisisers (13). Hydraulic rams (20, 21) control the movement of the boom. A cable (26) is anchored to the frame (27) and passes around pulleys (23, 27, 24) at the boom pivots, finally being anchored to the bucket (28). Thus as the boom is raised and lowered, the bucket maintains its orientation.
