Abstract

The width of the hull tapering towards the stern and is reduced by the wedge on each side. The corners of the stern are parallel to the wider stern corners. The vessel is fitted with horizontal retractable hydroplanes, which can be stowed in a watertight compartment in either side. The hydroplanes maintain the necessary stability in the vessel at slow speed and the narrow stern reduce the drag at higher speeds.
