Abstract

The locking device is for adjustable chairs with a seat (1) curved legs pivoted together and to the seat, and a back (3) supported by extensions of the front legs. A rod (7) joined to the back edge of the seat engages in notches (8) in a V-shaped support (9) fixed to the leg. An elastic V-shaped cover (12) fits over the notches and is fixed to the leg at the top and the bottom. It is held by springs, allowing it to be pulled away from the notches. This facilitates the erecting of the chair and holds the rod in place.
