Abstract

The insulation panels have cut outs in their top faces which take the bottom end of the starter bars (30) and these cut outs are first concreted flush to the top of the insulation to form heels to the floor beams. Hollow spacer blocks (40) are then laid on the insulation and the floor slab (45) is cast. It is important that the length of the cut outs (L) is less than the length (L) of the insulation panels. If the latter are made the same length as the floor beam spacing, then a continuous line of insulation panel results.
