Abstract

Copolymers for prepg. varnishes and lacquers comprise;- (a) 0.50 (wt.)% styrene, (b) 0-72% Me methacrylate, (a) and (b) forming at least 23% of the compsn., (c) 10-30 % hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, (d) 0-20 % methacrylic acid, (e) 8-20% glycidyl (meth)acrylate, the copolymers being esterified by (f) 10-25% of 8-12C satd. fatty acids. Parts (a) to (f) together form 100 wt.%. The copolymers are soluble and hardenable with organic polyisocyanates. Unlike the copolymers of FR7704891 the present copolymers do not necessarily contain methacrylic acid and therefore have improved adhesion.
