Abstract

The cast iron base of the cover is basin shaped with the bottom slightly curved. At the centre of the bottom is a hole surrounded by a narrow upstanding clip which is connected to and is of the same height as radial base reinforcing ribs. The base slopes up gently at its outside to a continuous upstand wall and the base is also provided with air vent holes. The plane flat cast iron cover plate has two symmetrical fixing down bolt holes and at right angles to them it has notched aeration holes.
