Abstract

The animal feed supply system includes an upper hopper (1) which tapers down to the point where it is connected to the discharge conduit (2). This feeds a cylindrical container (4) lying horizontally, with an opening (6) in its upper side. A rotor mounted on a shaft (10) is arranged in turn in the cylinder, and is driven by a motor and reduction gear (5). An opening in the lower side of the cylinder connects with a discharge chute (8). The rotor has a number of flat blades which are angularly spaced around the shaft. Between them these define a series of longitudinal chambers. Flat discs mounted on the shaft divide each of the chambers into a number of compartments. By control of the position of various shutters, and by controlling the speed of the rotor, measured quantities of animal feed may be dispensed. A control circuit is provided to regulate the dispensing operation.
