Abstract
The reversing switch comprises a housing block (10) having two pairs of fixed contacts (34, 36; 62, 64) mounted on opposite inner walls and cooperating with respective movable bridge contacts (32, 60). The normally closed bridge contact (32) is located between a flyweight slide (46) and a drive rod (14) which penetrates the block and is driven by a typical electrodynamic drive (12). The slide (46) in turn slidably carries the normally open bridge contact (32). Actuation of the drive (12) propels the rod (14) forward breaking the normally closed contact and carrying it, the slide and the normally open contact towards the opposite fixed contact pair (62, 64). The latter contact is spring biassed in the slide towards its fixed contacts so that shortly after it hits the fixed contacts, the slide is propelled into the normally open contact to prevent contact bounce.
