Abstract

The audio visual information system combines a computer and tape machine with a TV monitor to allow the screen to display information from the tape machine and from the computer. Several tape machines and monitors may be included. A microprocessor in a central unit(1) has a static memory containing the program and also a line memory. An interface allows a keyboard(4) to enter data and commands to the processor which provides a video signal. A mixer and selection circuit (5) allows the video information to be passed to the TV monitor (3) for display. The mixes and selection circuit also receives video signals from a tape machine (2) and provides a combination of signals from any other source for the monitor. Specific control signals are generated by a controller (6) for application to the mixer and selection circuit.
