Abstract

A hollow glass building brick with is not 2 cavities is produced by joining two cup-shaped splits and a partition. The edges of the circumferential flanges of all three parts are fused enough to melt them together while they still have a higher temp. after the forming operation. Such two-cavity bricks have a 15% better heat conductivity performance than single-cavity bricks. The new method requires less changes in the works organisation than cutting and storing separate glass panes.
