Abstract

The limit speed for an electronic speed controller is displayed on the motor vehicle dashboard. This is required if the controller has not been used for a time period when other speed limits may apply on that particular section of road. The graduated dial comprises a number of LED's (Li-16). These are connected to the outputs of a decoder (DC) whose inputs are derived from the output of an electronic assembly (BE) in the speed regulator. This is connected via interface circuits (C) to the decoder. The power supply for the decoder and LED's is derived from a voltage regulator (Rg) connected to the vehicle battery (B) through the ignition switch (I). A transistor circuit (T) allows the brilliance of the LED's to be controlled from the vehicle lighting circuit.
