Abstract

The job control cards which accompany a piece part during its various manufacturing stages in a workshop are eliminated by use of an alphanumeric keyboard. This allows information from each stage to be entered onto a magnetic tape cassette for communication with a central processor. A number of peripherals with input/output controllers are connected to a central processor to permit communication with alphanumeric keyboards and displays. A magnetic card input allows the operator to signal receipt of a job and the work periods. a cassette recorder allows the keyboard information of job code numbers to e recorded as well as information from the CPU. A clock maintains sync. for the various peripherals and allows time and date information to be recorded for progress monitoring.
