Abstract

Thermo-electric motor is based on two pistons driven by an ignited fuel and working in anti-phase such that the powered stroke of one piston provides the compression stroke of the second. The combined action provides an electrical output from a fixed or moving armature and a complementary inductor winding. The assembly has a low inertia and hence a fast start-up. The armature form can vary in structure and geometry using an annulus of small permanent or electro-magnets or can have a soft main slotted cone and windings associated with the piston con-rods. The motor is esp. suitable as a standby power source for electrically driven vehicles and as a primary source for motorcycles, barges and boats generally.
