Abstract

The paper cutting machines comprise circular cutters carried by a carriage (3) with which a threaded shaft (6) engages in a hub (5) to allow positioning when driven by an electric motor (8). An arm (7) on the carriage supports a photocell assembly. The belt is coloured in a matt black over a length (11a) equal to the max. travel required for the cutters. The remaining section (11b) is white with a millimetric scale to assist initial positioning. The output of the photocell is connected via an amplifier to a switching relay control.
