Abstract

The pump has a central hollow cone made from steel plate with the lower portion submerged in water. The sloping sides of the cone are fitted with deflections (3) and (5) at 90 deg.. The deflectors may be vertical or helical. The top of the cone has a collar (7) on its outer edge, and the lower edge has an accelerator blade (17). The rotor is driven by the motor (14) through a flexible drive (11). Liquid is discharged into the top volute.
